We know it's pretty impossible to 100% avoid jetlag on long-distance journeys, but there are a few things you can do while travelling and once you get home to lesson the blow.

Sleep on the plane

We know, airplane seats are cramped and awful, but try and get some sleep on the plane - especially on long trips which cross time zones, like USA - NZ. Buy a decent pair of ear plugs and an eye mask to help you catch those zzzzs.

Eat at meal times of the time zone you're in

You might not feel like it when you arrive, but eating at your current location's meal times is the best way to get your body into the right routine. Give it a crack!

Sync your body clock

Get yourself ready for the new time zone by setting your watch to your destination's time zone once you board your flight. So, if you're coming home from Camp - set the clock to NZ time, stat.

Stay active once home

Yes, taking a nap every time you feel sleepy is very hard to resist - but getting outside and moving will really help wake you up and banish those moments of jetlag doziness.
