Which counsellor are you? Which counsellor will you be?

Camp America Camp Counselor

Camp America works with over 900 camps.

At every camp there are a few different noticeable types of counsellors, there are so many more that what I have listed below.

Some counsellor even fit into one or more categories… WHICH ON ARE YOU?

  1. The “excited counsellor this counsellor is a bubbly bundle of joy and definitely a positive to have around on a gloomy day. This camp counsellor definitely brightens the room when he/she walks in and is great with the campers.
  2. The “blend in to the wall counsellor this camp counsellor is a little more mysterious to begin with they may come across as a bit shy. Give them some time and you may realise they have some wise knowledge to share with you.
  3. The “observer counsellor” this person is also another wise owl and may not be as loud as the others. This counsellor is often quite witty but chooses his/her moments to make a joke this counsellor is also a great listener and loves a good quiet chat.
  4. The “look at me counsellor” these counsellor are not surprisingly very noticeable from the beginning. They love talking about themselves and are a wonderful person to have on your team during colour war. They are fantastic at getting the campers to lift their spirits and get involved with the activity at hand.
  5. The “homely counsellor” this person is a bit of a sweet heart and does their best to make sure you feel at home even though you are miles away from home. This person is fantastic with the campers especially when it comes to solving problems.
  6. The “I broke a nail counsellor” this dear person may have come to camp thinking that it was five star accommodation. Give them some time they will in eventually let their rustic camper within unleash and they may just surprise you. This person is definitely the one you want in your cabin on Friday night socials.
  7. The “I need to get a watch counsellor” yes every camp has one of these counsellor. They are often found running late to morning line up because they were chasing squirrels, or late too night activities because they were catching fireflies. AWW HOW SWEET! This counsellor is a child at heart and often a kind natured person.
  8. The “multi coloured rainbow counsellor” this person has truly embraces the true beauty of camp, don’t be afraid to join in with them! They probably know a lot about tie-dyeing shirts!
  9. The “nature loving counsellor” this person is secretly a hippy at heart and is the person you want around when an unwanted guest makes its way into the camp site!
  10. The “All-rounder counsellor” this person is just one of those people you can’t help but fall in love with. They are hard to track down as they are contently doing something whether it be for the camp directors, campers or a fellow counsellor. The thing about thiscounsellor is that they are 100% loyal and will do anything for you.

Camp America works with over 900 camps.

At the end of the day I loved every one of my co-counsellors regardless of their personality, or specific attributes.

Each and every one of them had something in common with me and that was to give our campers an unforgettable summer in USA to remember.
